It's birthday time of the year and you're feeling terrific, and you should! When the Sun returns to the place where he was at your birth, it's always a very special time - when the universe takes extra care of you. Not only do you have the Sun in Capricorn, but also Mars and Pluto, and that's formidable planetary energy, allowing you to be quite persuasive in getting your way. Mars is giving you energy and drive, and Pluto is helping you think on very big, broad terms. This month, you're the leader of the parade!
Jupiter will be in Capricorn until January 5, so January 1 - 4 will be some of your best days. As the planet of happiness and good fortune, Jupiter is the planet we all want in our corner. Jupiter toured Capricorn all last year (2008) and is now packing up his bags to leave for another sign. Before he does, he will give you four very sweet days at the start of the month. Your charisma will be very high, and if you are single and did not meet your soul mate last year, be out and about during those four days. You never know!
Over the past year, with Jupiter in Capricorn, you planted the seeds for a new future. You may have done this consciously or unconsciously, but by now you are well on your way! Last year was also a fantastic time to meet new people in all phases of your life, many who would be in your life for a very long time to come, whether in love, business, friendship - even a mentor. In terms of business ventures, if you showed your proposals to gain VIP support, you will now start to see those ideas flourish and get the support you so dearly want.
When Jupiter enters Aquarius on January 5, 2009, you will enter one of your most financially generous years of the decade. You will begin to notice this trend later in the month when other planets gather to welcome Jupiter to this new area of your chart!
Before we go into that, I want you to use the first ten days of January productively. You have such excellent aspects! The new moon that appeared on December 27, 2008, in the sign of Capricorn, just a few days prior to the start of this month, will still be very strong and vibrant at that time. All new moons push a great deal of energy forth, so it's important to harness it while you have it.
If your birthday falls on December 27 or within five days of that date, this new moon will work extra hard to help you achieve your goals. If you were not born near that date, you may have other planets in early degrees of an earth or water sign that could be touched and become helpful. If you find the first half of January eventful, you will know you probably do have those planets!
It helps to have Mars in your sign too, and as said, you do! Mars will be in Capricorn as well, from now until February 4. Mars' presence also denotes the start of a new chapter, so it's a great time to go after something you dearly want this month. No matter when your birthday happens to fall, you may have to be patient while planets set things in place.
Here is why: Mercury will be retrograde from January 11 to February 1. This means things will slow down for everyone, but perhaps more for you, for Mercury will start to retrograde in Aquarius, but will quickly move backward into Capricorn, too. Until February 4, the pace will be slow. Possibilities for forgetfulness, miscommunications, and things going a bit haywire will be high.
It is never wise to sign contracts or begin new ventures while Mercury is out of phase, but this month you may find it doubly hard to hold back. With Mars in Capricorn, you will be so full of vim and vigor that holding yourself back may seem impossible to do, but still, you must. Anything signed or agreed to now will change dramatically later in a way that will not likely please you.
The tricky part about Mercury retrograde is that everything in your life will appear to be quite normal. In actuality, whenever Mercury goes retrograde it's a sign that the conditions around you are rapidly changing, but you won't see the truth of this for weeks or even a few months. If you agree to a big venture now, many of your assumptions will prove wrong.
You should not shop for expensive things during this Mercury retrograde period, especially not items with moving parts such as a car, a watch, or a computer. All electronics fall into this category, so wait to shop in February. You will be so glad you waited!
A relationship will be your full focus at the full moon, January 10, plus or minus three days. This full moon is a happy one. You may decide to go into business with someone and start to talk about forming a partnership soon, or you may decide to get engaged. (You can talk over these exciting plans now, but plan to actually sign papers or buy the ring in February!)
If you are married, you will get good news from your partner. Uranus will be sweetly angled to this full moon, so something that surprises you will come up, in the best sense.
Now let's get to your very best financial days of the month! Those aspects will arrive all clustered together!
As a preface, as said, Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, will move into your second house of money on January 5 to stay a full year. This is a sign that all the hard work you did last year, and in years before that, will now be up for financial reward. Let's see what Jupiter, working closely with other planets, has cooked up for you this month!
On January 22, a Thursday, Mars and Uranus will be perfectly positioned. Mars will be in Capricorn, and Uranus in your third house of travel and incoming news. You may get an email, letter by courier, or telephone message that thrills you. If you need to travel spontaneously for business, do - travel brings profits.
Also on January 22, Venus will be conjunct Uranus, so some sort of surprising news is likely to come in concerning your career, too.
On January 23-24 you come to what I call the "luckiest days of the year." In the wee hours of the morning of January 24, Jupiter will meet with the Sun in exact conjunction. We always want the energy to be building, not peaking, so Friday will be your stronger of the two days. That's January 23.
On one of these days, or the surrounding days, more good news will come your way about money. If you have awaited news about a refinancing plan, mortgage, or loan from your bank, or if you have a talk with your taxman scheduled, it will go better than you think it will!
If you are trying to sell a house, that won't likely happen until next month on February 17, but January 23-24 is a great day for so many other reasons - career, love, and money - you seem to have the bases covered!
You can buy a little scratch-off lotto ticket Friday night, January 23, but only one or two! Don't go overboard. Remember, the money that I see as lucky for you will be earned income, not prize winnings! Still, you seem to be hot, so go ahead and have a little fun.
Even bigger news arrives at the solar eclipse in Aquarius on January 26. That one will be a very encouraging and expansive eclipse that will open up a fabulous new financial opportunity for you. It falls in your second house of earned income, so the money we are talking about here is, again, money you make, not money won or that is given to you. It is possible that you will get a generous gift at this time, possibly in cash, but I tend to think it is more likely news of a raise or new job, or if you own your own business, news of a mammoth order coming in.
This eclipse will move very close to Jupiter, so any extra money you see should be VERY generous! If you are discussing two possible jobs at the same time, speak up - you can practically write your own ticket at month's end. Aspects this rare come by once in a lifetime. You have all the conditions you need to make quite a killing, so if you don't like the offer, negotiate for more. Believe me, you can get it.
Jupiter wants you to get reward for years of hard work, and the money you will see will be for the sum of experience and education you gained. However, the money seems to be directly related to efforts you made during the period that spans December 23, 2007, to January 5, 2009.
In the past 13 months you may have started a new job or launched a new business. Alternatively, you may have been given opportunities to hone your skills in your present job last year, approaching it with perception and vision that impressed VIPs. It is time you were materially rewarded, and this coming year, this is what you can expect to get. You have the whole universe at your side.
Keep in mind that an eclipse can affect you for six months to a year, so this new moon solar eclipse will be your friend. Its energy will stay with you through the coming year and help you find the right opportunities to make money.
Romantically, your first four days of the month will be smoking hot. You will still have Jupiter in Capricorn before he leaves on January 5, so if you haven't met your soul mate, you might from January 1 to 4. You must be out and about!
You and I spoke earlier about the full moon reaching a culmination for a relationship on January 10, or within four days of that date. You will likely make a decision about someone you are seeing or are with at that time. If a certain incident or question has concerned you in regard to your partner, you are likely to bring up that topic. Don't be afraid to do so. With Uranus in your communication sector, in fine angle to your Sun, you will come to a good conclusion together. I feel you will like the outcome of this full moon very much. It is also possible this full moon will lead to an engagement or other very happy development.
Travel is coming up as a possible source for lots of fun. You may travel to a nearby town on January 9, quite spontaneously. Do! With Uranus and the Sun in super-friendly conversation, it's sure to be an exciting time to go.
When Mercury conjoins Jupiter on the weekend of January 17-18, you can fly away a great distance.
Also, if you can take time off work, choose to go over the four days, January 22-25, for a divine weekend away. The accommodations would be beautiful if you go at this time.
If you are single and looking for love, you have one day that could be outstanding: January 22. On this day, Venus, the planet ruling your house of true love, will meet with Uranus. These two always bubble up plenty of fun. A surprise contact could happen on a trip or just around the neighborhood as you do your errands. It would be a wonderful day to be out and about, even if you have no plans to do errands! Socialize this evening, too.
If you do meet someone on or near January 22, the chemistry may be so sizzling that you will find the relationship heats up too fast. Keep it on a slow back burner. Thankfully, you are a practical Capricorn, so you probably already knew that "slow and sure" are the way to go.
You have a very full month, dear Capricorn! Happy birthday! Next month you will see many of the trends get much, much bigger! You have so much to look forward to!
Summary
What an exciting month you have ahead, dear Capricorn. The first four days of January bring Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, and energies of the new moon that appeared at the end of December all together in one big package. Mars will stay with you all month, giving you energy and drive. You can move ahead on plans, but do so with caution.
Mercury will be retrograde from January 11 to February 1, and that means conditions are changing. You won't be able to see the road ahead until at least February, so conduct talks, but don't commit yourself to anything quite yet. Don't sign contracts, take a new job, or buy anything expensive this month, especially not anything electronic.
The second half of the month introduces the year's new trend - financial reward for hard work done.
Your first indication that you are about to hit some wonderful financial luck could be January 22, when Mars and Uranus will meet on your behalf. It's a wow of a day. Ask for a raise, find a freelance or part-time job, or bid on a job - whatever you like! The world is your oyster!
The next day you will come to the luckiest days of the year, January 23-24. Of the two, your best day will be January 23. Money luck will also be on your side in a big way! You may hear of more moneymaking opportunities then too, and your career should be hitting all high notes. Although the money I am seeing is earned income for you, I will admit that this is also a lucky time of the month for you, so go ahead and buy one or two scratch-off lotto tickets - just don't spend too much!
The solar eclipse on January 26 will be another big moment for you, for it will open a door on a very lucrative income earning opportunity. If you enjoy your present job, ask for a raise soon after that brilliant new moon arrives. It's very possible you will get an offer from a competing firm soon if your present employer does not have the budget to give you more money.
Eclipses affect us for longer time periods than other aspects. This one is a very generous one because it will appear so close to Jupiter. If you are negotiating a new job, be sure to get the salary you want, because you have rare favor now! If you are self-employed and bidding on a big contract or job, you seem to be the golden one and you can push the envelope!
Travel could come up this month and would be a great time to go. On January 9, you may get a quick invitation to jump in your car and go to see friends or a close family member, such as your sibling. It's a great time to go.
Another grand weekend for travel will come over the weekend of January 17-18, when Mercury will conjunct Jupiter. This would be superb time to journey a very long distance. Also, anything having to do with publishing, broadcasting, or academia would bring happy results this same weekend, or on the previous Friday, January 16.
Your career should bring stunningly good news on January 22. Wow! Your solar tenth house is ruled by Venus, and on this day, Venus will meet with Uranus.
Romance seems to be on the front burner too this month. January 1-4 will be so special that if you have not yet met your soul mate, you should be out and circulating. You have the whole solar system on your side!
If single, January 22 brings Venus and Uranus together. Your confidence will be high this month, so you must be out and about a great deal.

Make a long range plan: January 2 when the Saturn will meet with the Sun on your behalf.

Happy days for travel: January 9, 17-18 (long trip), 22 (short trip).
A big earning opportunity will come up: January 26.
Your luckiest days of the year: January 23-24, for money, love, career - you seem to have it all - but luck for earned income gets top billing.

Every carrier works a little differently, so here are the instructions for you:
Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile customers: When you text AZP to 75777, you will receive a text message back with step-by-step instructions on how to download the application.
Example: Verizon customers are told to go to "Get it Now," then "Tools on the Go," then "Mind, Body & Soul," and then select Astrology Zone® Premier™. So, Verizon customers will have to actually exit the Text Message and go back into the menu on their phone. This is something that you, as a Verizon customer, have to do to get any application, so it's not a new process, and it's worth the effort!
AT&T and Sprint customers: When you text AZP to 75777, you will receive a text message back that includes a link to the application. It is a more direct process than the one outlined above.
Not all phones are equipped to take the new technology, so check first with your provider and explain which phone you own. If you purchased a cell phone in the past year, chances are your phone is ready.

Comcast Cable TV now features me (Susan Miller) on their "On Demand" channel. If you're a Comcast Cable subscriber and already have their On Demand package, you can see me deliver your forecast each week for free.
